NextDocs and Shyne — which should you use?

We now make two products. Here's the short answer.

The one-line version

NextDocs turns a prompt into a finished document or deck, fast, on your own.

Shyne is a live canvas where you, your team, and your AI make things together — decks, documents, social posts and video, in one place.

Pick NextDocs when

  • You need a deck, proposal, or report finished and exported, today
  • You're working on your own
  • You want several complete versions generated so you can pick one rather than edit one
  • You need PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Google Docs on the way out

Pick Shyne when

  • Someone else needs to be in the file with you
  • Video is part of the work, not an afterthought
  • You want to watch the AI make changes and correct it as it goes
  • The project will keep changing, rather than being finished once and exported

Common questions

Is NextDocs being shut down? No. NextDocs stays up and supported, and your account, documents, exports and plan are unaffected. We are honest about focus, though: Shyne is where we're building now. NextDocs keeps getting the care it needs; the new things we make land in Shyne. The full story is in why we built Shyne.

Which one gets new features? Shyne. That's where our energy and our new ideas go. NextDocs continues to get fixes and upkeep, so what you rely on today keeps working.

Do I need to move my documents to Shyne? No. They're separate products with separate accounts. Use either, or both.

I'm a paid NextDocs customer — what about me? Nothing changes unless you want it to: your plan, billing and credits carry on as they are. If you'd like to make Shyne home, write to support@nextdocs.io and we'll activate your account on Shyne ourselves. Moving everyone over properly will take a little time, but we'll take care of you.

Do I need a new account for Shyne? Yes — Shyne is a separate product with its own free plan. Signing up takes about a minute and doesn't need a card.
