NextDocs v1.7.0: Motion Animations, Video Export, and More

NextDocs v1.7.0 adds motion animations to presentations. You can now animate any object on the canvas with entrance, exit, and emphasis effects, then preview and present with full playback controls.

This release also introduces video export, a redesigned marketing site, and a comprehensive i18n overhaul.

Motion Animations

Every object on the canvas can now be animated. Select any element β€” text, image, shape, chart, diagram β€” and assign it an animation from the motion panel in the sidebar.

Motion animations in NextDocs

How it works:

  1. Select an object on the canvas
  2. Open the motion panel in the sidebar
  3. Choose an entrance, exit, or emphasis animation
  4. Set timing and order within a beat
  5. Preview directly in the editor or present full-screen

Animations are organized in beats β€” logical groups that play together. Each presentation supports up to 20 beats, and you can reorder them by dragging in the sidebar.

What makes this powerful:

  • Stagger animations β€” group objects and have them animate one by one with a delay
  • Drag-and-drop ordering β€” rearrange animation sequences visually
  • In-editor preview β€” see animations without entering presentation mode
  • Auto-play after generation β€” the AI picks sensible animations and plays them automatically
  • Keyboard navigation β€” arrow keys to advance, spacebar to play, escape to exit

Use cases:

  • Pitch decks β€” reveal key numbers and points one at a time for dramatic effect
  • Lecture slides β€” step through formulas and diagrams progressively
  • Sales presentations β€” build visual stories that guide attention
  • Conference talks β€” control pacing so the audience focuses on what you are saying, not reading ahead

The AI understands motion context. Ask it to create a presentation and it will assign appropriate animations automatically. You can then adjust the timing, order, and effects to match your delivery style.

Video Export

NextDocs now supports a video document type. Create animated content and export the full sequence as an MP4 file.

The AI generates motion-ready slides designed for video output. The export pipeline handles concurrent frame capture and produces a clean MP4 you can share directly.

What you can create:

  • Short explainer videos for social media
  • Animated infographics for reports
  • Product walkthroughs and demos
  • Educational video content for courses

No external video editing software needed. Create, animate, and export β€” all in one place.

Redesigned Marketing Pages

The NextDocs website has been visually refreshed with a new hero section, animated statistics, and improved template browsing with category chip labels.

There is also a new About page with the team story, available in all 13 supported languages.

Mobile responsiveness has been improved across all marketing pages β€” better navbar behavior, fixed visual overflows, and cleaner layouts on small screens.

Other Improvements

  • Page transitions β€” presentations now support smooth fade and slide transitions between pages
  • Keyboard shortcuts β€” full keyboard control in presentation mode (arrows, spacebar, escape)
  • Faster template browsing β€” images preload in the background for instant display
  • WebP blog images β€” blog pages load faster with optimized image formats
  • i18n system β€” new unified management system with audit tooling across 13 languages
  • About page β€” new company About page with full localization

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed objects flashing briefly before their entrance animation in presentation mode
  • Fixed HTML overlay opacity not syncing with motion playback
  • Fixed richtext animation opacity in both editor and presentation views
  • Fixed target dropdown being clipped by its parent container in the motion panel
  • Fixed cross-locale layout issues for RTL languages (Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew)
  • Fixed mobile navbar breakpoint causing layout shift

Who is this for?

v1.7.0 was built for anyone who presents:

  • Business professionals creating pitch decks, sales presentations, and quarterly reviews
  • Teachers and professors building lecture slides with progressive reveal of complex concepts
  • Students preparing thesis defenses and coursework presentations
  • Content creators making animated explainer videos and social media content
  • Engineers and designers presenting technical walkthroughs and product demos

If you have ever wished your AI-generated slides had more visual storytelling, v1.7.0 delivers that.
